Difference between Hindu marriage and Tamilnadu marriage act certificate :

Validity of both certificates:

Both marriage act certificates is equally valid and it is valid and should be accepted by all authorities in India and abroad.

How the certificates will look and content of certificates:

Hindu marriage act certificate will be in six pages and the tamilnadu marriage certificate will be in single page .

Hindu marriage act certificate will not carry couples photos and the tamilnadu marriage certificate will carry couples photos in certificate.

Time limit for registration :

There is no time limit for register the marriage under Hindu marriage act registration tamilnadu. Registration can be done any time after the marriage . Even after 30 years you can register your marriage.

There is a time limit for register the marriage under Tamilnadu marriage act registration. You have to register the marriage within 90 days from the date of marriage . After 90 days you can register the marriage within 60 days with fine. So you have to register your marriage within 150 days from the date of marriage. After 150 days you cannot register your marriage under tamilnadu marriage act 2009.

Who can register under these Acts :

Only Hindu couples can register their marriage under Hindu marriage Act .

Any religion can register their marriage under tamilnadu marriage Act 2009. Hindu and Hindu, Hindu and Muslim, Hindu and Christian , Muslim and Christian and foreigner couples can register their marriage in one day process

Online verification of marriage certificate after registration:

As of now Hindu marriage certificate can be verified in Tamilnadu registration official website www.reginet.net and you can verify your registration information online. This is only additional future and you won’t get any extra benefit .

But the tamilnadu marriage certificate cannot verified through online. Non availability of online verification will not affect its validity and if you have original marriage certificate, there will be no need for online verification.
